Description
The KM 184 is a miniature cardioid microphone. The successor of the well-known KM 84, the KM 184 marries the capsule of the KM 84 to the low-noise transformerless ‘FET 100’ circuitry of the KM 100 series. Suitable for many tasks, especially for situations when it is necessary to attenuate off-axis sound (mainly from the rear) from other nearby instruments, it is also commonly used as an XY and ORTF stereo pair, for announcers in broadcasting studios, ‘spot’ pick-up of individual instruments overhead and close positioning to strings, wind instruments, percussion, piano, Leslie speakers and guitar amplifiers.
