CALM Theatre Sounds

Max Emmerson Productions choose CALM Theatre Sounds to supply a Qlab Playback system to take on tour. CALM is happy to be working with Max Emmerson and Adam Robertson once again and wish them a successful tour. Written and performed by Joe Mallalieu, RUM is an award winning exploration of men’s mental health issues.

CALM is pleased to be playing a small part of at the RSA New Contemporaries 2025. Amy Anna Graham will be exhibiting the installation The Control Room and CALM will supply speakers and infrastructure. The Control Room will be at The Mound, Edinburgh, EH2 2EL from Saturday 22 March until Wednesday 16 April 2025. We wish Amy Anna every success.

CALM is pleased to announce our continued supply of flesh toned DPA 4061s for theatre hire. As other hire companies move away from renting lav mics to theatres, we buck the trend.

It was therefore no surprise that when English Touring Theatre: ETT approached CALM to supply microphones for Macbeth at The Lyric, Hammersmith we were able to answer the call. Our scope of supply includes brown and beige DPA4061s and an Extreme SPL DPA4099.

CALM is pleased to announce our continuing relationship with Live Theatre, Newcastle. Champion is an original production written by Ishy Din and produced by Live running from Thu 13 Feb 2025 till Sat 8 Mar 2025. One of our Qlab systems will playback the sounds of the 1970s for this hard hitting drama set in South Shields.

Ding, dong, ding, dong, the bells are ringing because Scrooge is coming to Newcastle – and he’s meaner and greedier than ever. Bah Humbug!

CALM Theatre Sounds is pleased to announce a continued relationship with Northern Stage. This year’s A Christmas Carol will see no less than 10 of our EM Acoustics EMS-61s adorning the Epic Space along with 10 amplifier channels.

We are pleased to report our collaboration with the Theatre Centre and Sheffield Theatres‘ co-production Of Dizzy.

Dizzy is a fantastical adventure exploring memory and mortality, graffiti and grief, and finding meaning amidst the chaos.
